The Senate of the University of Ibadan led by Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka has suspended the Students’ Union of the university indefinitely.
The suspension was part of the outcome of a special meeting of the Senate held on Tuesday, May 30 in the University’s Senate Chambers.
Recall that The Management of the University of Ibadan has shut down the university on Monday, May 29 as a result of a protest held by the students over issues bothering on the use of hot plates and non-issuance of ID cards to the students by the management.
“The new date for resumption will be released later,” he added.
Meanwhile, the University is yet to release an official statement to back this up.
