UI shuts down school, fixes resumption for July 17


This was contained in an announcement made by the institution’s vice chancellor, Professor Abel Idowu olayinka on the University’s radio, Diamond F.M.
According to the announcement, all undergraduate students of the University are to vacate the halls of residence not later than 6.00pm today.


However, the closure did not affect the postgraduate programme.
“This is Professor Idowu Olayinka, the Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, I hereby declare that all undergraduate students of the University are to vacate the halls of residence not later than 6.00pm today.

“The first semester exams for undergraduate students are hereby postponed till Monday 17, July 2017.

“Postgraduate students can continue with their lectures,” he added.
Recall that the students of the University had fix a protest for today over issues bothering on the use of hot plates and non-issuance of ID cards to the students by the management.
